Block Time allows you to block out specific times in a technician’s calendar, whether for a partial day or a full day. This is useful for marking them as unavailable due to reasons such as leave, study, cleaning, or any other non-work activities.
Previously, the “Mark Fully Booked” functionality only allowed you to mark a technician as booked for the entire day. With Block Time, you can provide more detailed availability by specifying the exact reasons for their unavailability, such as illness or leave.
How to use
In the Diary - Day View, click on the timeline with the left mouse button to open a pop-up menu with additional options.
?️Note - if the user clicks on the 9am time-slot, the system will automatically set 9am as the start time and suggest a default period of 1hr
Select the Block Time option:
You will then see the following Block Time screen where you can fill in the appropriate details:
- Specify the Start and End dates and times for the time to be blocked out, and if you wish to block out entire days, tick the Full Day checkbox.
- Selecting a Job Code and adding a Note is optional
- Only Non-Job Job Codes can be selected for Blocked Time
- You can add Job Codes in Setup > Maintenance > Labour Categories
- Click Save when you're done
Blocked time will display in the calendar, per the screenshot below:
