How to add the counted items to a stocktake and finalising the stocktake to update the stock balances
So you've started a stocktake, and now you're ready to enter the results. To do this navigate to Workshop > Stock Enquiry > click the gear icon and select Stocktake
Click on the part to be updated and you can then enter the number you counted during the stocktake into the Count field.
Tip: You can set or edit the Bin Location value on this screen too, which will help you group stock items in SAM into separate stock items in SAM into specific physical locations, simplifying the process of running 'Rolling Stocktakes' in the future!
Clicking Save will save your changes then automatically proceed to the next part in the list. After clicking Save, if you do just want to return to the Stocktake list, click Cancel.
Tip: You can sort the order of the stocktake list to your preference. Ordering of the stocktaking form will only be reflected on the printed Stocktake Sheets if the order is set before the sheets are printed.
Once all parts have been counted (e.g. there are no 999,999.99's in the counted column) you can finalise the stocktake by clicking the New icon and selecting Finalise Stocktake.
This will update the stock figures in webSAM with counted results you have entered.
Note: If some parts have been purchased or sold after the initial stocktake creation, then you will be prompted to re-count these. This warning will display.
These parts will not update the stock and will remain in the stocktake with 999,999.99 in the counted column.
follow the process above to enter in the new count and finalise.
If you've come this far, we assume you've already read the articles on creating and adding items to a stocktake, but if you somehow randomly ended up here at this end of the stocktake road and need to track back, see:
